These individuals demonstrate a commitment to supporting students and provide input on the goals and priorities of the company. Their experience and expertise will help advise and guide our company as we move toward the future.
Pamela Newman (Chairperson)
Dr. Newman is an international insurance broker specializing in Fortune 500 clients worldwide. She serves on the board of RKO Pictures, as well as on their Executive Committee. She serves on the Board of Interactive Metronome. She is also a Trustee of The American University of Paris.

Dr. Newman is on the Corporate Board of Carnegie Hall, and is a Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association and a member of the Associate Committee of The Juilliard School. She is a member of the Economic Club of NY, a Vice Chairman of the Business Committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a member of the Medical Center Advisory Board of the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, a past President of the Financial Women’s Association, a member of The University Club, a member of the Committee of 200, and a member of The National Arts Club. She serves on the Board of the McGowan Transplant Center, the Brain Trauma Foundation and American ORT. Dr. Newman earned a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from The University of Michigan. During her years in academia, she received a three-year teaching fellowship and was awarded the Horace A. Rackham Doctoral Research Grant. She currently serves on the Horace Rackham University of Michigan Graduate School Board of Advisors. Her business and professional writings include articles in American Bar Association publications and Real Estate Forum. She has co-authored three books: Organizational Communications, Behind Closed Doors and A Guide to Effective Meetings.

Atoosa Rubenstein (Chairperson of Student Advisory Council)
In July 2003, Ms. Rubenstein was named editor-in-chief of Seventeen, the largest teen title in the U.S. with more than 13 million readers. She increased Seventeen’s newsstand sales for the first time in over half a decade – for a total newsstand growth of 23% to date.

Previously, Ms. Rubenstein founded and served as editor-in-chief of CosmoGIRL!, Hearst Magazines’ successful teen spin-off of Cosmopolitan. When she founded CosmoGIRL! in August 1999, Ms. Rubenstein was only 26 years old, making her the youngest editor-in-chief in the history of Hearst Magazines. During her tenure at CosmoGIRL!, the magazine was honored with some of the industry’s highest honors including Adweek Startup of the Year in 1999. After graduating from Barnard College, she took a job as a fashion assistant at Cosmopolitan, under the leadership of renowned editor-in-chief Helen Gurley Brown. Quickly her talent and enthusiasm propelled her through the ranks, where she became a senior fashion editor at Cosmopolitan in five short years. Columbia University honored Ms. Rubenstein in 2004 by naming her one of the top 250 alumni through the ages. She was also recognized by the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York as a Woman of Distinction. Ms. Rubenstein has been featured in Crain's New York Business’ “40 Under 40” and Folio's “30 Under 30.” In addition to her professional work, she is a member of The Candie’s Foundation Board of Directors, which helps educate young people about the consequences of teen pregnancy.

Carl Frischling
Mr. Frischling is a Senior Partner in the Financial Services Group at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, a New York-based law firm. Prior to joining a law firm, he was chief administrative officer and general counsel of a large mutual fund complex that included a retail and institutional sales force, investment counseling and an internal transfer agent.

During his ten years with the organization, he developed business expertise in a number of areas within financial services. He served on the Investment Company Institute Board and was involved in ongoing matters with all of the regulatory areas overseeing this industry. Mr. Frischling serves on the board of the AIM Mutual Funds and the Cortland Funds. Mr. Frischling also serves as the President of The Daniel Heumann Fund for Spinal Cord Research and is a Trustee of the Yorkville Youth Council. Mr. Frischling is a Director and on the Executive Committee of the Mutual Fund Director’s Forum, a not-for-profit organization representing independent directors of investment companies. Mr. Frischling graduated from Columbia College with a B.A. in 1958, Columbia Law School with a J.D. in 1962, and Columbia Business School with an M.B.A. in Finance in 1963.

Caroline Geerlings
Ms. Geerlings is senior vice president of global marketing for MAC Cosmetics and is responsible for MAC’s worldwide marketing efforts, strategic planning, new product initiatives and category development.

MAC, which is a subsidiary of Estée Lauder (NYSE:EL), produces a broad line of color-oriented professional cosmetics, skin care, and makeup tools targeting the world’s top makeup artists and fashion-conscious consumers. The company is known as an industry leader for style and innovation in the premium category, and does business in 49 countries. Ms. Geerlings, who joined MAC in 2000, also spearheads the company’s e-commerce efforts and direct marketing campaigns. Before joining MAC, she was senior vice president of marketing at Christian Dior. Ms. Geerlings attended Nyenrode, the Netherlands School of Business, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Ms. Geerlings earned a Master’s degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tim Manners
Mr. Manners is the editor and publisher of Reveries, an award-winning online magazine focused on insights, ideas and innovation. Reveries is the home of Cool News of the Day, an online newsletter. Mr. Manners is also editor and publisher of The Hub Magazine, an official publication of the Association of National Advertisers, a trade association whose client-side members represent 8,500 brands and $100 billion in marketing, advertising and communications spending.

Ibon Muhammad
Ms. Muhammad serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Park Slope Housing Development Fund Corporation which is responsible for the acquisition and renovation of 23 four-story brownstone buildings providing homeownership for 100 families.

From 1994 to 2004, Ms. Muhammad worked as director for the Fifth Avenue Committee, Inc. in Brooklyn, New York and was responsible for the planning and coordinating of affordable housing for low, moderate and middle income households. She is a graduate of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and has a Masters of Science in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute School of Architecture – Center for Planning and Environment. Ms. Muhammad replaces her husband, Bilal, who passed away in June 2005. In 1981, Bilal joined the Chipwich Company as a street car operator, graduated to general manager and eventually trained cart operators in Florida, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Texas and Los Angeles. Mr. Muhammad successfully operated various service enterprises. His clients included The Apollo Theater, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, The Brooklyn Museum and the New York Jets.

William J. Ross II
Mr. Ross began his career in the family business, LeRoy Sales, representing the Burry Biscuit Bakery of New Jersey. Mr. Ross became President of LeRoy in 1982, and developed LeRoy from a regional into a national company with its first prominent customer, Chipwich®, a relationship that still exists to this day.

He later added Ben & Jerry’s®, Breyers® and Häagen Dazs® as customers. In 1991, Mr. Ross hired one of California’s master bakers, Sam Calderon, and they renamed LeRoy to Bloomfield Bakers. Messrs. Ross and Calderon grew the business to $30 million in annual sales, with 200 employees and 70,000 square feet of bakers’ space. They specialized in Chipwich® and private label products for food retailers such as Safeway, Trader Joe’s, Wal-Mart, Odwalla (Coke foods), Kraft and Hain. In 2002, Mr. Ross acquired Hain Foods, which provided his Bloomfield Bakers with additional capabilities for producing crackers, cereals, and extruded bars. Since 2002, Bloomfield Bakers has doubled sales of their facilities to $120 million. Mr. Ross received a B.S. from Long Beach State and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.

Vijay B. Vad
Since 1997, Dr. Vad has been an attending physician and a fellow of sports medicine at The Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, as well as Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of PMNR, a member of the Association of Sports Spine, and Occupational Rehabilitation, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

He serves as the Senior Committee Member at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Vad also serves as the Medical Director of the Buick Classic PGA tour, the Hamlet Classic Association of the Tennis Professional Circuit, the Senior Scientific Consultant with the Genzyme/Wyeth/Awerst Corporation, The Sanofi Corporation and the Corflex Racing Company. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Mobitech, a privately held biotech firm. He is the recipient of various research support grants and has over 20 scientific publications and research presentations. Dr. Vad received a B.S. and a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma.

Jean Hoehn Zimmerman
Ms. Zimmerman was, until April 2005, the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales for CHANEL Beauté and Fragrance, and was a member of the Operating Committee, International Strategic Advertising Committee and the Global Coordinating Committee.

Ms. Zimmerman oversaw the direction of long-range planning, new product development, marketing, promotions, public relations, creative strategy, sales and corporate advertising. Ms. Zimmerman’s philanthropic efforts have included: President and Chairman of Cosmetic Executive Women, Advertising Women of New York (AWNY), The Fragrance Foundation Board of Directors and The New York committee for United Cerebral Palsy. Ms. Zimmerman is also an Advisory Board Member of the Graduate Program of the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is the recipient of numerous awards including: The Cartier Scholarship Recognition Award, The Cosmetic Executive Women Achiever Award, The Leah E. Harrison Humanitarian Award for the Children Protection Center, and The University of Florida’s Alumni of Distinction Award, where she graduated from with honors.
